Too many Orlando restaurants to choose from?
There are so many Orlando restaurants, in a fairly small area which makes Orlando a great place for eating out, however the choice can be mind boggling.
Hopefully we can help by letting you know some of our favourite places, and by passing on details and information on other restaurants (and giving honest opinions).
Over time we will be adding links to different types of Orlando restaurant to help you find what you want more easily - for example you may want a Chinese restaurant
in Orlando, or an Italian restaurant, or maybe even Japanese. Whatever your choice we aim to help you find a good place to eat out at a budget to suit you.
So which of the many Orlando restaurants is our favourite? Well it's a fairly close call but the winner is Fulton's Crab House which is found in the Marketplace
area of Downtown Disney.
It is a little pricey but the welcome is friendly and the food is outstanding - do try their fishcakes which are very special. Their main speciality is as a seafood restaurant, but they also serve other delicious choices.
Kids are well looked after with a special menu which can be used for playing and drawing on. As with many of the restaurants in Downtown Disney, you will often need to wait for a table if you
are looking to eat during the busy evening time, but you can book a table and then have a wander around to soak up the exciting atmosphere - this area always seems to have
a real buzz to it. It's probably because I can never resist the more expensive items on the menu, but a meal here does tend to cost from $75 upwards for the 3 of us
(usually with the emphasis on upwards), but we think that it is worth every cent.
Also a family favourite in Downtown Disney is The Rainforest Cafe which is a fabulous themed restaurant where you dine with some realistic animals and experience occasional storms (don't
worry you won't get wet). Food here is varied in flavours and always very tasty although if you come at a busy time (typically around 7.00 in the evening), you can expect
a very long wait before you get a table - be prepared to buy something from their shop as they do sell great things and you will inevitably spend some time hanging
around the store! Go for the house speciality pudding - a Volcano - and the whole restaraunt will know about it, go on we dare you!
If you are looking for somewhere a little less expensive, then why not try a Bob Evans Restaurant which we have found to be very clean with good home cooked food. Bob Evans is a fairly basic style of restaurant however we had very enjoyable meals there and found that even with the tip, a family of 3 can have a good lunch or evening meal for $30 including drinks.
You may also like to think about Bob Evans for breakfast - again it's very good value and there is a great choice of delicious food - I particularly liked their Eggs Benedict, an excellent way of stoking up before a big day in
the parks so that you can manage on a small lunch and be ready for another great evening meal.
Another possibility for breakfast is Cracker Barrel which is another good value Orlando restaurant for eating out (they are good for all times of the day as well).
here you will find some good old fashioned American cooking - at evening time the meatloaf is highly recommended and they do the best mashed potato that we have had anywhere.
Cracker Barrel also have a wonderful store attached which it is hard to resist buying from.
